Call 683-4611 (Oakhurst) or 966-3636 (Mariposa) for information on pricing and availability of service. You may also dial the new Custom Calling Information number for pre-recorded instructions: 683-1455 or 966-1455.

Call Waiting

Tired of missing your calls? Call waiting helps. For example, when your teenager is on the line and hears the Call Waiting tone, they put their call on hold. Then the calling party is connected. Simply and easily. Relax, knowing you will never miss a call because your teenager is socializing with friends. Cancel call waiting can be activated on a per-call basis.

How The Call Waiting Feature Alerts You

  • A beep tone tells you another call is waiting. Only you hear this tone.
  • Another reminder will be heard 10 seconds later if the waiting call remains unanswered.
  • The second caller hears only the normal ringing tone.

    To Answer The Second Call

  • Depress the switchhook for about one second to place your first call on hold.
  • You will automatically be connected with the second caller.

    To Alternate Between Calls

  • Depress the switchhook for about one second to alternate between calls.
  • Each conversation is private and cannot be heard by the other caller.

    To End Either Call

  • Simply hang up.
  • Your telephone will then ring
  • When you answer it, you'll be connected with the other caller.

    Cancelling Call Waiting

    To cancel Call Waiting:

  • If you have touch-tone service, press + +
  • If you have a rotary phone, dial 1170.

Wait for the dial tone, then dial the number you wish to call. Call waiting has been cancelled for the duration of your call and will be automatically restored when your call is completed.

    Call Forwarding

Any call coming in to your telephone can be automatically transferred to another telephone. You choose where the call will be answered - your friend's, neighbor's or wherever you will be. Say good-bye to staying at home waiting for a call or to the unanswered phone that could tip off a burglar. Call Forwarding is simple and easy to use.

Call Forwarding lets you transfer your incoming calls automatically to any other telephone you can dial within the continental USA without the assistance of an operator. In addition to regular Call Forwarding, the following options are also available: Call Forwarding fixed, busy, no answer and busy/no answer.

Call 683-4611 or 966-3636 for full information on all options.

    To Foward Your Calls

  • Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  • Dial + + (On Rotary Phone dial 7+2 and wait four seconds.)
  • Again, listen for the dial tone.
  • Dial the number where you wish your calls forwarded (Speed Calling codes may be used if you also have this feature).
  • When someone answers at the forwarded number, your Call Forwarding feature is now in effect.

If there is no answer, or if the line is busy, hang up and repeat the previous steps. If you do this within two minutes, you'll hear two beeps meaning your Call Forwarding feature is now working.

Once you have activated Call Forwarding, the phone will make one short ring each time a call is forwarded. You can still make out-going calls from this phone.

If you wish to change the number your calls are being transferred to, just deactivate Call Forwarding (see below) and follow the steps above for Call Forwarding.

    To Deactivate Call Forwarding

  • Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  • Dial + + (On Rotary Phone dial 7+3 and wait four seconds)
  • Listen for two beeps. Call Forwarding is now deactivated and calls will ring on your telephone.

    Some Things To Remember

Call Forwarding continues in effect until you cancel it from your telephone.

You can still make outgoing calls from your telephone while Call Forwarding is established.

A short ring will be heard whenever your number is called to remind you that your calls are still being forwarded. You cannot answer these calls.

If other persons use your telephone, let them know when incoming calls are being forwarded, especially if they are expecting an important call.

Don't forget to tell the person who will receive your calls that you are using Call Forwarding - especially if you will not be where your calls will be forwarded!
